Work Package 3: Information Transfer

One of the key objectives of this network is also the transfer of information, not only between European and local network members, but also from the network to the larger community of the construction industry. As such, the network should offer the participants as well as the outside world a window on on-going activities with regard to sustainable building, construction and urban development. Use will be made of different channels for this information transfer, i.e. meetings, visits, workshops, newletters and a website.

In the first working year, 2 Network meetings were organised: the kick-off meeting took place in Rotterdam (the Netherlands) on 20-21 November 2000. Interesting technical visits were made to the demonstration projects 'District Nieuw Terbregge' and the offices of XX-Architects. The second meeting was held on 10-11 May in Volos (Greece). This meeting was combined with an International workshop, which focussed on "Modern Forms of Construction and Environmental Protection: Technical and Environmental Performance and Energy Saving in Public Buildings". In Volos, a visit was organised to the rehabilitation project in the 'Tsalapatas' brick factory.

During the second working year, a third Network meeting was organised in Brussels (Belgium) which was entirely devoted to task group discussions on the draft set of recommendations. To get feedback from all stakeholders and to classify and structure the set of recommendations, a joint PRESCO-CRISP workshop was held in Ostend (Belgium) on 24-25 June 2002.

A fourth Network Meeting was organised in Toarmina (Italy) on 10th January 2003, during the third working year of PRESCO. During this meeting, each attending member received a set of recommendations for revison. In Toarmina, a technical visit was organised to Conphoebus, a company working in the field of renewable energies and rational use of energy.
